Zoo Camp Begins

Today was the girls first day of Zoo Camp. We arrived a little early so the girls could play on the playground. I surprised them with a picnic lunch after I picked them up from the zoo. I also snuck in a little school after the picnic. Then we headed home. Early Bird was tired after so much fun this morning (I think she was too excited to sleep last night). They made fossils that they need to "dig" tonight. I told them this was going to be an outdoor project. I'll take photos of that and post them later. We just need to finish grammar and math, then we are done for the day.

The Drowne was reportedly a clan of sheep thieves that was "asked to leave" Scotland many years ago. They came to America and many dropped the final "e." I researched some years ago and found that the name means "dwellers on the cliff." The Holloway family used to live on something call "Scotch Mountain" in upstate New York, and we think that the Holloway family came from Scotland as well. I think you can hold your head up proudly at the Scottish Games.

Love,
